Dr. Byron Klaus

Byron Klaus is president of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) in Springfield, Missouri, where he also serves as professor of intercultural leadership studies. Prior to his appointment as president of AGTS in 1999, he served for 20 years on the faculty and administration of Vanguard University of Southern California, and in leadership roles at churches in California, Illinois and Texas. While at Vanguard University, Dr. Klaus was vice president for Latin America Child Care, a development ministry that benefits more than 80,000 children in 21 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Reflecting his strong commitment to excellence in leadership development, Klaus has been invited to preach and to support church leaders of growing and dynamic congregations in more than 50 countries. A widely published and respected author, Klaus is coeditor of “Called and Empowered: Pentecostal Mission in Global Perspective” and “The Globalization of Pentecostalism: A Religion Made to Travel.” His publishers include Baker Book House, Moody Press, Logion Press, Regal Books, Hendrickson Publishers, Regnum Books International and Routledge Publishers.
Klaus holds a bachelor’s degree from Bethany Bible College, a master’s degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
