I am currently a co-pastor and co-founder of The People of New Day, an emerging United Methodist congregation in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
I explore post-modern philosophies as they help and hinder in articulating effective ways of Christ-like experiences and engagements in local and global communities. My research interests are in the domains of Historical Jesus research, the anthropological and archaeological study of the New Testament, and the phenomena of scriptures as a cultural enterprise.
This interdisciplinary work emerges out of my passion to invite scholars, churches and the general public into conversation about the place of the New Testament in historical and contemporary life. My work involves teaching and learning in classrooms, worship services, museum spaces, and in Web and print forms of media. I hope to refine my own pedagogy to make better uses of these locales to facilitate vibrant and life-giving reflections.
