Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) Reveals Awardees for the 2024 Doctoral Fellowship Program

ATLANTA (May 3, 2024) – The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) proudly announces the selection of 16 scholars of color as recipients of FTE’s prestigious Doctoral Fellowship.

These outstanding individuals have been chosen to receive either the Fellowship for Doctoral Students of African Descent or the Fellowship for Latino/a, Asian, and First Nations Doctoral Students.

Each Fellow, beyond the coursework stage of their program, will receive a generous stipend of $30,000, to support them in completing their PhD or ThD in religion, theological studies, or biblical studies. FTE recognizes each individual’s outstanding potential to contribute to the field of theological scholarship and shape the future of the church and academy.

As part of the fellowship award, recipients are invited to attend FTE’s 2024 Forum for Theological Educators. The Forum offers invaluable opportunities for networking, professional growth, vocational exploration, and mentorship.
